Bite does not collect, store, or sell your personal information. These terms explain how you may use the service and your rights when using bite.tools.

Document 1 of 2: Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bite website located at bite.tools ("Service"), operated by Bite ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing bite.tools, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. Description of Service

Bite is a dish recommendation web application. The Service allows users to:

  • Input a location via map selection, text entry, or GPS
  • Answer a short quiz about dining preferences
  • Receive AI-generated dish recommendations from aggregated public data
  • Access neighborhood pages with curated dish information

Bite aggregates publicly available information from third-party sources, including restaurant review platforms, critic publications, and social media. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of recommendations.

3. Recommendations Disclaimer

Recommendations are for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional dietary, nutritional, medical, or financial advice.

We make no warranty that any recommended dish will be available, accurately priced, or suitable for your restrictions. Always verify ingredients and availability directly with restaurants.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on the Service, including Bite name, design, text, software, and scoring methodology, is owned by or licensed to Bite and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the Service or infrastructure
  • Scrape or systematically extract data without permission
  • Disrupt service performance or integrity
  • Use abusive automation, bots, or scripts
  • Misrepresent identity or submit misleading or harmful content

6. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service links to third-party platforms (including reservation, delivery, and mapping providers). Your use of third-party platforms is governed by their terms and policies, not ours.

Bite may receive affiliate compensation when users click certain links or complete transactions. This does not influence recommendation scoring.

7. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bite and its affiliates from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, violation of third-party rights, or reliance on Service output.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bite is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. In no event will total liability exceed $100 USD.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

10. Modifications

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time and may update these Terms. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Disputes must be resolved first by good-faith negotiation, then binding arbitration in King County, Washington, except where equitable relief is permitted in court.

You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive class actions and class-wide arbitration.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

Document 2 of 2: Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Bite handles information when you use bite.tools. We designed Bite to operate without collecting or storing personal information.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

  • Name, email, phone, account credentials
  • Precise GPS location in stored form
  • Quiz answers beyond the current request
  • IP addresses in identifiable or stored form
  • Payment information
  • Tracking cookies across sessions or websites

2. Information Processed Transiently

Location and quiz inputs are processed only to produce recommendations and are not persisted by Bite after request completion.

3. Third-Party Services

Bite uses third-party services including Google Maps/Places, Anthropic Claude API, hosting infrastructure, and affiliate platforms. These services have their own privacy policies.

4. Cookies

Bite uses only functional session behavior required to run the product and does not use advertising or persistent cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child submitted data through the Service, contact us at hi@princetonlock.com.

6. Data Security

Traffic is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Because Bite does not maintain a personal data store, breach exposure to personal information is materially reduced.

7. Your Rights

If you believe we hold personal information about you, contact hi@princetonlock.com and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

8. International Users

Bite operates from the United States. By using the Service, you understand that any transient processing may occur in the United States.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will revise the Effective Date and become effective upon posting.
